It means I ovulated both times, but does anyone have any insight on why the number would be virtually the same? The nurse (not my doc, the nurse always makes the calls) just called. I asked her if I should stay at 100 or go back down to 50mg since the numbers were the same and showed ovulation. She gave me no answer and asked if I wanted to go up to 150mg. You would think they would say no need to increase if I'm ovulating right? Clomid will only help you ovulate with progesterone over 12 you ovulated why would you ask to go to a higher dose? You risk over stimulating your ovaries and getting cysts I would question the ethics of your Dr. even suggesting 150mg especially if your not being monitored with u/s... Would love success stories with these two drugs when TTC and/or any advice! Stopped the pill end of October and had 2 39 day cycles, regular 4 day periods, mild cramping, nothing out of the ordinary, but this cycle is longer and I didn't ovulate. I know some women have high insulin and tons of cysts. Nothing yet, by he told me to call in as soon as my period starts so he can give me the clomid. For others that have had to take progesterone and clomid, did you end up conceiving? We’ve been trying since September but this month was my first month on medication. I have high male hormones, but other than that, my other levels are okay. I’ve taken progesterone for two months now and it’s worked each time. Only asking because I used opks last month and got a pos LH surge but my temps never stayed consistently after "ovulation" like they are supposed to. Jul 02, 2009 Progesterone and Weight Gain by Wray Hi Brianna. Weight gain can occur when first using progesterone. The reason for this is progesterone initially stimulates oestrogen, which causes the water retention. If everything looks good I will take a trigger shot and we will be doing IUI we conceived, doing both, plus trigger shot, clomid has got me pregnant three times, plus the progesterone. I would recommend a regular pad if you use the suppositories, I tried a pantyliner and had leakage, not pretty. If you take the progesterone suppositories at night you sleep through most of the leakage and it is not so bad. I'm taking the progesterone suppository at night, so hopefully I wont have too many side effects. The progesterone has some pretty rough side effects but there are things that you can do to help with those. The second round I would get dizzy very tired, and nauseous. Taking the progesterone in suppository form has significantly fewer side effects, that is why I started taking them that way. I'm on my 3rd round of clomid, so i hear ya on the mood swings and crying! The Dr told me to eat a good meal, protein, and try taking it at night. suppository and that helped with the dizzy and sick tummy feelings. The Dr put me on a mild anti-depresent for the mood swings that came with the clomid. Clomiphene citrate (Clomid, Serophene) is the first-line agent used in most women for ovulation induction. It became available in 1968 and is a good medication, given its safety profile, effectiveness and cost. Treatment with clomiphene is indicated to improve the timing and frequency of ovulation and to enhance the possibilities of conception for the patient who ovulates only occasionally. It works by increasing the levels of FSH (follicle stimulation hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) secreted by the ovary to stimulate the maturation of follicles (which contain the eggs) in the ovary leading to ovulation and more predictable cycle length. When you are planning a clomiphene cycle, we ask that you call Fertility Specialists of Texas on the first or second day of your menstrual cycle. The nurse will talk with you about the cycle, schedule an ultrasound, if needed, and call your prescription into the pharmacy.
