    Metformin dizziness

Hi Ladies I just have as question about metformin whats the side effects some of you may have had? I start to take metformin today so maybe this will bring on my period. I had a natural m.c in nov 2008 and no AF as of yet. Sorry to hear about Teko's rough go w/ the statin, but thought I'd drop you a note from the other side. It (along w/ other meds) has done wonders in dropping my cholesterol from the mid 300's to 120, and my HDL/LDL are within the acceptable ranges for the first time. I have 5 stents in my LAD, so I am happy that there's something out there that may help prevent future clogging of my arteries. After your HSG test, you should recover very quickly and be back to your normal activities by the next day. If any of the side effects become severe, you should contact your doctor right away. Does the fuzzy feeling / dizziness go away after standing up for a while first? However it is possible that its a side effect from the metformin... Actually I have ongoing high blood pressure which I take meds for but with my recent weightloss perhaps that needs adjusting. It passes after a minute or so and it only happens after I've been sitting/driving, not after laying down which makes me think it's either low blood pressure or low blood sugar. talk to your doc about it Hb A1c: Oct 08 - 9.2% | Dec 08 - 5.5% | Feb 09 - 4.4% | June, Sep, Dec 09, Mar 10 - 5.2% | June, Aug 10 - 5% | Nov 10 - 5.3% | Dec 10 - 5.1% | Feb 11 - 5.2% | May 11 - 5.3% | Aug 11 - 4.6% | Dec 11 - 5% | March 12 - 5.1% | June 12 - 5.0% | Sept 12 - 4.9% | Dec 12 - 5.2% | March 13 - 4.8% | May 13 - 5.0% | Oct, Dec 13 - 5.2% | Mar 14 - 5.0% June 14 - 5.1% | Sep 14 - 4.8%Thanks for the replies. I'm just curious that this started the same time I increased my metformin dose. I know I'm probably being a bit neurotic but after 50 years of pretty much perfect health (until the diabetes dx last Sept) I'm not used to feeling less than 100% all the time and I don't like it! I'm going to take BG readings before and after meals over the next couple of days before I see the doc to see what's happening. I hope it's not the metformin because it's doing a pretty good job otherwise. If it IS the metformin I'll let you guys know as it may be a problem for other diabetics too.

3 days later went to Infectious diseases Dr (had to wait as it was weekend), he swabbed the sore area, thought it looked 50/50 for herpes. He also did HSV antibody which came back positive..... Swab was also neg, but he said may have been too late for accurate test. I asked for which HSV, he said test did not distinguish between HSV 1 and HSV 2. Am confused, Dr says come back asap if another sore appears. Plus prednisone can cause or increase the amount you are refluxing. I have been 10 mg of Prednisone for inflammation of pinched nerves in my lower back. My doctor did not tell me there was any complications or side effects of taking the two. I have not noticed any new signs on the area that has been effected. It normally didn't help my symptoms at all until the course was done because I have bad reflux. I would use this medication only as a last resort with a history of GERD. The issue with prednisone is much more one for you than for him.
